Biography of Reverend John N. Robinson, Jr.

Pastor Robinson

Reverend Robinson is a native of Washington, D.C. He is the second of five children born to the late Eula and John N. Robinson Sr.

He was educated in the D.C. public school system. In 1981 he attended the Gateway Business School in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated with honors. He enrolled at the Washington Baptist Seminary in 1984 and graduated in 1989. He also furthered his studies at the Washington Bible College and Howard University. He holds a B.A. in Theology and Biblical Studies and a Masters of Ministry from Richmond Virginia Seminary. He is also the author of "Preaching Hope to a Hurting African American Society". In June 2010, Pastor Robinson received an Honorary Doctor of Theology from Fort Wayne Theological Seminary and Bible College.

Reverend Robinson is married to the former Helen Shorter. They are blessed with three children – John III, Jontae, and Lisa and one granddaughter, Jahniya Robinson.

  • 2010 Guest Revivalists for Eagle Believer’s International and Lighthouse Ministries in Sierra Leone, Africa

Reverend Robinson organized the Spirit of Christ Baptist Church in March 1992. 

In 1995 Reverend Robinson established a strong foreign relationship with the Regent Road Baptist Church in Sierra Leone, Africa.  In 2009 he expanded his ministry to two churches in Sierra Leone, Africa.  He and members of his congregation completed missionary work in November 2009 by preaching the gospel to over 3000 members of the Eagles Believers International Church and End Time Mount Zion Ministries.  He and his congregation also planted a financial seed to assist with the purchase of bibles and other needed church supplies.  During his 2010 visit to Sierra Leone, Africa, Reverend Robinson preached and taught at a Pastors’ and Ministers’ Conference, performed community outreach work in the schools of Sierra Leone, and established a communal relationship with the Bible Seminary in Sierra Leone and the Washington Bible Seminary in Washington, DC, USA.   

He was an instructor for the Mt. Bethel Congress of Christian Education and a sub-teacher at the Washington Baptist Seminary.  Aside from his pastoral responsibilities, he is busy as a revivalist and a workshop facilitator, which operates under the umbrella of J.R. Ministries.  Reverend Robinson was inducted in the year 2000 Who’s Who, where he was recognized for his community work and as an inspirational leader in the church. In 2002 Reverend Robinson led the Spirit of Christ Baptist Church in a 1.2 million dollar building project with 13,000 sq. feet in Forestville, MD.
